Bronze Commander training

The role of a Bronze Commander should not be under estimated. The Bronze Commander deals with incidents at an operational level. This course has proved invaluable to many organisations dealing with any major incidents. The Bronze Commander training is a one day course aimed at incident responders, first line managers and middle managers. This course helps to prepare staff to support senior managers when dealing with major incidents. The course gives delegates the skills required to effectively and safely carry out in depth the typical eight different Bronze Commander roles during an incident:

• Incident Scene Bronze.
• Intervention Bronze.
• Surrender Bronze.
• Regime Bronze.
• Evacuation Bronze.
• Staging Post Bronze.
• Care Bronze.
• Debriefing Bronze.

Course objectives:

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

• The key principles of the Incident Command.
• The roles and responsibilities of personnel within the incident command structure including Gold, Silver and Bronze Commanders, as well as the roles of other support staff.
• How to plan an initial response to an operational incident (Hold, Plan and Act).
• The difference between ‘Management mode’ and ‘Command mode’.
• The role and responsibilities of the different Bronze Commander roles.
• An overview of the Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Programme (JESIP).
